Day 60

These last couple of days I've been playing around with our 50mm lense trying to get comfortable with it. It has a very shallow depth of field (clearly!)
Settings: f2.8 1/30 ISO 100
Composition: Rule of thirds
Editing: Reduce saturation.

Just Practice

Still trying to learn to shoot in Tv mode.   I laid on my back and took these while the ceiling fan was going.

Days 42 through 58

(I had a little bit of catch up to do)
For those who couldn't make it today, you MISSED OUT! Daina, Melissa, Amy and I had so much fun. We planned on only being gone for a couple of hours but didn't make it home until almost 4 o'clock.  Time fly's when you're having fun! It was cold but dry and even sunny!

Major Catch up! Days 28-40

I'm back fellow Photogroup-ers! Here is a recap of the last week+.

At the park Vale found this baseball.  I kept asking him to "show" it to me so I could take a picture and he just kept looking at the ground.  I finally realized he was afraid to look at me because he did NOT want me to "take" his new treasure!

I would have loved to have taken this pic in color but forgot to change my settings before snapping.  The moment I shot it, he ran away.  Lesson learned: Always check your settings!!!
I loved the way the light was hitting these!

I stole this idea from Marisa's blog.

I tried to catch the mist from the spray bottle.  When I slowed down the shutter speed, it was too dark.  Amy???
I love lanterns!

I'm always looking for a challenge that will help me learn something new.  Are there any tips for taking pictures part sun/part shade?
Someone once told me that the artist who painted this picture painted it so that one eye represents justice and the other mercy.  I have no idea if it's true.

I first took this picture in b/w to dramatize the balls shadow.  Then I realized that a soccer ball just doesn't look right unless it's on green grass!

Day 22

I'm totally converted to Aperture Priority! It's been interesting to take the same picture at different f-stops and see the difference! I focused on the edge of the vase and it blurred out everything else.
